Surgical safety

Safe surgery saves lives.

The WHO Surgical Safety Checklist has been proven to reduce the complications and mortality rates for surgical procedures by more than 40%, regardless of geography, size and wealth of the facility it is used in.

It was created by an international group of experts gathered by the World Health Organization with the goal of improving the safety of patients undergoing surgical procedures around the globe, with input from anaesthesiologists, operating theatre nurses, surgeons, patients and other professionals.
