Pauline Philip is the CEO* of Lifebox and a member of the Lifebox Foundation Board.
She returned to the NHS in 2009 as Chief Executive of Luton and Dunstable Hospital NHS Foundation Trust after spending the previous seven years managing the World Health Organisation’s work on Patient Safety and establishing a new Department: WHO Patient Safety.
Until 1999 Pauline was an NHS Trust Chief Executive before becoming a Director in the London Region of the Department of Health. In recent years she has also worked closely with the Chief Medical Officer in England, supporting him on a number of key initiatives including the Quality and Safety component of the NHS Next Stage Review, ‘High Quality Care for All’. She co-authored the 2006 ‘Safety First Report’ with Sir Ian Carruthers.
