South Sudan

Lifebox® in the world’s youngest nation

Lifebox® has worked with a number of different NGOs, volunteer anaesthetists and local organizations to help improve the safety of anaesthesia and surgery in South Sudan. This includes providing oximeters to Juba Teaching Hospital (where the picture below of surgery by torchlight was taken) and Juba Military Hospital, as well as Wau Teaching Hospital and Martha Health Care Centre in Yei.

Most recently we have supported the setting up of a recovery ward at Wau Hospital by providing oximeters through the Poole-Africa Link charity and provided oximeters for Comboni Hospital in collaboration with the Italian charity Solidarity for South Sudan.
