Lifebox is hiring – Programme Support Officer, UK
PURPOSE OF ROLE
To support the delivery of our three-year strategic plan in the expansion of our projects around safe anaesthesia, surgical infection reduction and teamwork in the operating room. Working closely with the programme team and other colleagues throughout the organization, as well as our trustees, advisors and external partners, the post will support and facilitate the delivery of our plan in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Programme support (approx 80%)
Providing logistical and administrative support to the organisation and delivery of training programmes, and other programmes of work, in collaboration with Lifebox Programme Managers and partners.
Liaising with staff, partners, Trustees, advisors and other stakeholders to ensure Lifebox programmes are developed, planned and executed to a high standard and in accordance with plans and budgets
Supporting the development and rollout of Monitoring and Evaluation tools, taking responsibility for the timely input of programme data, and acting as a focal point for analysis and reporting
Working with the Programme team to ensure programme information is gathered and stored accurately and appropriately, for reporting and collaboration both internally and externally.
In collaboration with the Programme team and fundraising staff, supporting the development and submission of funding proposals and donor reports, including logframes and budgets.
Organising and minuting meetings of various Working Groups and Committees in support of Lifebox’s programmes.
Supporting Lifebox presence at conferences and events.
Other tasks in support of Lifebox’s global programmes as appropriate
Logistical support (approx 20%)
Liaising with suppliers and partners to ensure orders are placed and essential medical equipment is delivered to the right place and on time
Reviewing supplier’s monthly reports and ensuring stock levels are properly managed
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential
Experience of working or volunteering in the global health, development or humanitarian sectors
Ability to work and communicate with colleagues, partners and contractors across disparate geographical and cultural settings
Strong administrative and organisational skills
Self-motivated with proven ability to take initiative
Ability to prioritise tasks and work to competing deadlines
Excellent written and spoken English
Good communication skills, able to communicate clearly and appropriately
Awareness of international development and global health issues, current trends and priorities
Excellent IT skills (particularly in Word, Excel and Powerpoint and/or the Google suite equivalents)
Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
Strong commitment to Lifebox’s mission and vision
Desirable
Experience supporting or coordinating the delivery of global health, development or humanitarian programmes
Experience working or volunteering in a low-resource setting
Fluency in additional languages, particularly French, Spanish or Hindi
Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation tools and practices
Qualification in global health, international development or similar
